ATALANTA WELLER AW11
Inspired by Louise 'Lulu' Brooks, the Atalanta Weller aw11 collection draws heavily on the eclectic style of the 'roaring twenties' and its maverick hero and is blended with quintessential Atalanta Weller super hero dazzle.
Signature sky-high wedges, courts and boots come in opulent lacquer look animal print patents, contrasting black and russet butter-soft leather, and suede. Each shoe is decadently finished with golden heels and fastenings.
There is also design collaboration with the NEWGEN award winning accessories designer Fannie Schiavoni. Weller and Schiavoni bring together their love of sculptural shape and use of texture to create strong, unique and luxurious finish on the Fanella boot.
This collection presents new maturity for the luxury designer whose work is synonymous with utilitarian urban design.
The collection look book, styled by Kim Howells and shot by Karina Twiss references the gothic sci-fi comic books of the ‘60s and ’70s that is true to Atalanta Weller’s style.
The industry clamor following show-stopping collaborations with avant-garde UK designers Gareth Pugh, Henry Holland and Sinha Stanic led directly to Atalanta Weller's first solo collection and instant NEWGEN recognition. A graduate of the prestigious Cordwainers College, Weller continues to collaborate with London’s most avant-garde designers.
Weller continues to inspire young designers as a guest lecturer at on the MA course at London College of Fashion, and this year her shoes were bought for the permanent collection at the V&A. Her international stocksits for aw11 include The Convenience Store, London, I.T. China and Oak NYC.
